What is the Region of Waterloo Public Health’s role in early literacy?
We aim to support all children to reach and stay at an optimal level of health and development. This includes the promotion of school readiness. School readiness is a good sign of early childhood development. School readiness is also a predictor of outcomes later in life. Early literacy skills help children to begin school ready to learn.
